ZWART IN HET NEDERLAND VAN DE 21E EEUW Pretu is a group exhibition exploring the meaning of being black in the Kingdom of the Netherlands of the 21st century. I participated as an artist, with the installation "Black pain and black pride go hand in hand. Reconstructing the past, rethinking the present time and reimagining the future are connected themes that stem from black pride.
It is time to step out of victimhood and experience development so that we can grow and prosper. This takes courage, resilience and resistance. Beyond the social challenges of the past and the present. Focused on the future, with the hope that things will be different for the next generation. Who have fought for our survival and development so far? Who will be the activists, artists and musicians of tomorrow? How do we continue black pride?
