Book, digital exhibition, based on 3D renderings and usernames of people who have interacted with ‘Tay’ . Tay is Microsofts first AI-bot (2016), that based itself on-, and learned through, human interaction. Through this Tay became an evil Hitler-loving, incestual sex-promoting, ‘Bush did 9/11’-proclaiming robot. After less than 24 hours, Tay was taken offline. Revealing the extent and dangers of Artificial Intelligence from the start.
This book exhibition maps out the data of those who had contact with her including twitter pictures, names and tweets (of and towards) Tay. These elements are presented in individual rooms. Resulting in a walk through a complex network of data. This exhibition is exploring a lineage of AI, bots and their communication that has become particularly relevant at the start of the 21st century.
