Wall of Mask

Series of paintings on A4. I started this project in April 2020, during the covid lockdown. Confined in a house by myself, with no social contacts, and only my own thoughts. The masks represent the different voices speaking to me, both inside and outside of myself about who I am and what is expected of me. The series represents my thoughts, insecurities, cries for courage, laughter at my emotional state of being, inner pep talks. As well as (dealing with) the projections, expectations, thoughts, standards and opinions of other people (forced) onto me.
